— The description of Chapter I

La Quinta High School

The City

Shortly after he exited the sewers, Yasu stumbled upon a city. He walks through the many rows of shophouses and discovers a bridge at the end of the path. When Yasu crosses the bridge, he experiences Hiachi's disorienting jump scare. On the other side of the bridge lies the House of Death: 死の家, which is the death maze where Hiachi roams.

As he enters the House of Death: 死の家, he hears Hiachi’s hum. Yasu turns left and finds a desolate room with a dead body at the far end of the room. On the corpse’s lap is a key; Yasu picks it up and goes to the right. He progresses through the right side of the maze and approaches the exit, where he uses his key and exits the House of Death: 死の家.

The Arari Village

After Yasu escapes the maze, he appears in an unknown place. As he walks ahead, he sees a girl playing a biwa. When Yasu approaches her, she disappears. Yasu continues heading forward, till he arrives inside The Arari Village. He stops in front of a house to chat with a farmer. The farmer told him that his brother had gone into the city, but he had not returned yet. The farmer then warns Yasu that if he'd seen a lady playing the biwa, it was already "too late."

After talking to the farmer, Yasu continues on his journey. He discovers a cave and decides to explore it. He proceeds into the cave and finds out that inside is the lair of the mysterious statues of a lady—known as Shizu. After his terrifying experience with Hiachi, Yasu was smart enough to know not to get close to or touch any of the statues.

At the segment where the two caves connect—is a gate. The gate opens to reveal a minka, in which Yasu spots a figure on the top floor, with ominous music playing in the background. The figure disappears as soon as he reaches the entrance and the music fades away as he goes further into the minka.

The Hotel

Yasu finds a tunnel that caves in downwards into a cave. He takes the path on the right, which brings him to a door. Once he enters the door, he appears on the ground floor of a hotel. On the ground floor, he goes forward, and a woman on the ceiling appears and scares him before reaching the elevator. At the elevator, he finds a comical penguin woman on the floor and talks to her. She says there’s no escape from the hotel as she has tried several times—and explains to Yasu about an evil being who “mimics” people.

Despite what the woman said, Yasu enters the elevator and enters the second floor.

On the second floor, Yasu encounters a lady playing a biwa. The lady had appeared earlier at the village’s entrance. The farmer at the village had also mentioned the lady—moments before Yasu had entered the cave. At the hotel, Yasu avoids the lady with the biwa and enters another elevator, taking him to the next floor.

On the third floor, Yasu appears to be in a maze. He explores the maze and encounters a woman crawling on the ground. As he ventures further into the maze, he stumbles upon the same woman, but she is instead on the ceiling. The vines on the wall assist Yasu in hiding from the hostile monsters. After avoiding the monster, he finds an elevator and takes it.

The Imperial Palace

Yasu finds himself at the entrance to an unknown structure. When he wonders where he is, a strange voice informs him that he is at the Imperial Palace.

Death's Challenge: Jigoku

At the locker room’s lavatories, Aka Manto appears. He'll make you choose between Red, Blue, or Green. Picking the first or second option kills the player—but selecting the third option brings you to Jigoku, the home of Shinigami.

Trivia

  • Chapter I is the first main story chapter to release in 2021.
    • It is also the first ever chapter to ever be released in The Mimic.
  • Hiachi’s cries in the basem*nt was due to the feeling of betrayal when she was deceived by Sama as a child.
  • There are several backpacks of popular brands, such as Gucci and Nike[1] seen in the school.
  • The Mimic takes place in Japan, with the antagonists' names being of Japanese origin, the areas, the map, and the lobbies having Sakura trees.
    • In the case of Control's Book, this takes place in the United States due to its starting point, the school, being based in the same high school that MUCDICH went to in California.
  • Previously, in Nightmare Mode, you could find Hiachi roaming around the gym while crying in a low pitch. She shares similar features to Shinigami, as he now controls her instead of Sama.
  • During the April fools day update, a few Easter eggs were added that can be seen when playing this chapter. Some noticeable ones are Mike Wazowski with Shrek’s face in the entrance to the school and an among us figure replacing a butterfly spirit in the loading screen.
  • This chapter is the only chapter of Control's Book that has no male monsters.
  • If you go together with other player(s), you still can hear a small Roblox classic walking sound.
