    14:29 18 June

    BBC Radio 5 Live

Scotland fan Craig Ferguson, who walked all the way from Hampden Park to Munich, earlier spoke to BBC Radio 5 Live in Cologne: "Honestly, I couldn't have asked for a better reception, it was amazing, I think everyone has just been here in Germany enjoying themselves, of course the result wasn't one we expected and even a little bit more bitter for myself, having travelled all that way but I think everyone is just out here trying to take in the atmosphere. Enjoying being here is the main thing and then the football comes afterwards."

On what inspired the idea: "I wanted to do something special first of all for Scotland qualifying because like I said, it's even more special that so many fans are even able to be here in Germany taking in the experience and enjoying the whole thing.

"The eyes are on Scotland for a change and it's amazing, not only that but the opportunity to raise some money for this charity Brothers In Arms, a men's mental health charity that aim to and prevent male suicide, I got down the rabbit hole of planning it and thought I need to do this now!"

Scotland v Switzerland (Wed, 20:00 BST)

    BBC Radio 5 Live

More from BBC Scotland reporter Jane Lewis at the Scotland camp.

On Ryan Porteous' threematch ban and who will replace him: "It probably will be [Grant] HanleyI imagine, he's been a go to player for Steve Clarke. He's a playerthat is very experienced, he came on against Germany.

"Ryan Porteous of course, after the UEFA control and ethicsdisciplinary body looked at that tackle, gave him an extra game because theydeemed it to be serious and rough play. So, yeah his tournament is over unlessScotland get past through the group stages.

"I think Steve Clarke's team selection will be reallyinteresting. Will Billy Gilmour come back into his thoughts for the midfield? There was a lot of people who thought that Billy Gilmour should have started thatgame."

What will happen if Scotland lose against Switzerland?: "Aloss would be absolutely disastrous. I think a draw obviously would be a positivebut I think when you talk to most people, they need to go out there and try toget all three points because not only would that put them in a really goodposition going into the last game, it would do so much for the confidence andalso trying to forget all about the disaster of the opening game."

On the defeat to Germany: "It was a real real sore one. It was disappointing, it was frustrating, it was just everything you didn't want to experience from Scotland in that opening game.

"The player's didn't perform, they didn't show up and I spoke to some of the player's after the game and that was the feeling among the squad really, that they could of done so much better.

  6. Fans' show of faith 'a great boost' to hurting Scotspublished at 14:11 18 June

    14:11 18 June

Scotland v Switzerland (Wed, 20:00 BST)

    Scotland

Scotland have taken a "great boost" from the fans who stuck by them after their Munich mauling, says goalkeeper Angus Gunn.

While the 28-year-old admits the 5-1 defeat to Germany “still hurts”, he insists Steve Clarke’s side are determined to repay the Tartan Army and are targeting full points against Switzerland and Hungary to progress from the group.

"Everyone's still bitterly disappointed from the result and also the performance. I don't think anyone did themselves justice," said Gunn.

"We let ourselves down, our families down and obviously the fans, which is probably the most difficult part to take.

"Seeing all the videos of everyone travelling over before the game, it looked unbelievable and even after a result like that, they were still there, singing and clapping at the end.

"It gives us a great boost, lifts us after such a disappointing result and just makes us want to want to repay them even more in the next two games.

"Obviously we've played against the pot one team now already, so that's out of the way and we've got a target - two wins - that'll get us through the group."

  8. McGinn promises 'different Scotland' against Swisspublished at 14:07 18 June

    14:07 18 June

Scotland v Switzerland (Wed, 20:00 BST)

"You'll see a different Scotland" against Switzerland on Wednesday, midfielder John McGinn has pledged after opening Euro 2024 with a crushing defeat by hosts Germany.

A huge travelling support could not inspire the Scots in Munich as they fell to a 5-1 loss.

Switzerland joined the Germans on three points after a 3-1 win over Hungary.

"It doesn't take a genius to work out where it went wrong," said McGinn of Friday's one-sided game.

"On Wednesday, you'll see a different Scotland. A team with a point to prove, probably more to ourselves than anything else.

"Seeing the amount of Scotland fans in Munich, that's the disappointing thing, feeling like we've let them down.

"We can't forget the opportunity is still there."

Scotland finish the group against Hungary on Sunday, with the top two going through, along with four of the six nations who finish third.

No Scottish team has ever progressed from the group phase at a major finals.

Former Chelsea striker Chris Sutton called the decision to rule out Romelu Lukaku's second half equaliser for Belgium against Slovakia "scandalous."

He added that the decision was incredibly harsh on Belgium and that if the incident happened in the Premier League, the goal would have stood.

"That is scandalous. It is ridiculous, it really is," former Chelsea striker Chris Sutton said on BBC Radio 5 Live as Belgium's celebrations were quickly squashed.

"Openda doesn't intentionally push the ball into his path. That is harsh. In the Premier League, that goal would stand."

  19. 'Scandalous decision' & 'lousy finishing' in Belgium shockpublished at 13:23 18 June

    13:23 18 June

    FT: Belgium 0-1 Slovakia

Slovakia pulled off one of the biggest upsets in European Championship history with their victory over Belgium - but it could have been prevented.

Ranked third in the world, Belgium were favourites to top Group E before kick-off but now find themselves playing catch-up after a wasteful performance in Frankfurt and a "scandalous" refereeing decision.

Chances came and went and Romelu Lukaku squandered several before having two second-half goals ruled out by the video assistant referee (VAR).

The first of which he was clearly offside, but the second was a more controversial decision with less than three minutes of normal time remaining.

Referee Halil Umut Meler was sent to the pitchside monitor before disallowing the goal for handball in the build-up by Lois Openda.

The Belgium substitute was in full motion as he fell into the ball while tussling with Slovakia defender Denis Vavro, with his arms seemingly in a natural position.
